Common Inquiries About the Cook-Off
What are the contest categories?
We have two categories: Ribs and Chicken Thighs. Ribs are provided, but contestants must bring their own chicken thighs.
What is the entry fee for contestants?
The entry fee is $100 for a 10×10 space and $150 for a 10×20 space. The deadline for application and payment is June 5, 2026.
What are the judging criteria?
Judging is based on taste, tenderness, and appearance/presentation. All decisions by the judges are final.
What should contestants bring?
Contestants must provide their own grills, smokers, utensils, fuel, tents, tables, chairs, and food preparation supplies.
Are there any restrictions on cooking?
All meat must be cooked on-site. No alcohol or illegal substances are permitted during the event.

Day 1: Competition Day

6:00 AM - Contestant Setup Begins
11AM - 1PM
Contestants start setting up their cooking stations and preparing for the competition.
7:00 AM - Cooking Begins
3PM - 5PM
The official start of the cooking period, where contestants begin preparing their BBQ entries.
11:00 AM - Public Event Begins
7PM - 9PM
Gates open for the public to enjoy the festivities, including tasting and entertainment.
Day 2: Cleanup and Wrap-Up
